Time: 15 minutes one-way. Difficulty level: 1. Trailhead: From Roseau take the road skirting the north side of the Botanical Garden.

Cross a bridge near the corner of the Gardens, continuing through Bath Estate, Louisville, Copthall and reaching Wotten Waven. Opposite the school is the trail leading down to the hot springs.

A sign in Wotten Waven tells you where to park and where to start the hike. An easy spot to find.

The village is home to the boiling gray mud pots that dramatize Dominica 's volcanic history.

The major mud pot here is notable for its constant noise and wave action. Its steam has a definite sulfuric smell.
