Finding a Doctor Overseas

The likelihood of requiring medical attention is remote. To be best prepared in case of an accident, contact these 2 organizations before departure and carry your personalized the list of physicians with you.

The non-profit International Association for Medical Assistance to Travelers provides free access to qualified IAMAT affiliated doctors and clinics in more than 90 countries and 350 cities. Participating doctors are fluent in English: iamat.org

Check your personal health insurance to see if your policy covers overseas travel; otherwise, consider temporary medical/accident insurance.

Always carry your insurance card and a copy of your policy so local physicians and hospitals can see what kind of coverage you have.

Pay all bills with credit card so any disputes can still be settled once you return home.
