Tiny St. Barts has an area of 21 km² and a population of 8,398. The  capital is Gustavia, also St. Barts’ main harbor. The island is also known as Saint Barth in French.

Officially St. Barts is  part of the Collectivity of Saint Barthelemy,  an overseas collectivity of France. The collectivity is one of 4 territories in the Leeward Islands making up the French West Indies, along with Guadeloupe, Martinique and St. Martin.
