New Hotels on St. Lucia

Sandals Resorts International has announced plans to expand the company's family-themed Beaches Resorts brand to St. Lucia.  This $80 million resort will be the first Beaches in the Eastern Caribbean and the fourth Sandals-owned resort on St. Lucia. Located on picturesque Pigeon Island next to the causeway, the new resort will feature 300 rooms and suites with ultra all-inclusive amenities that have made the brand's locations in Jamaica and Turks & Caicos  "Tops for Tiny Travelers'" according to the Family Travel Forum. Coconut Bay Resort & Spa is located on the southern shore of the island on the old Club Med site. The all-inclusive resort features 254 guestrooms, all with ocean views, separate sitting area and private balcony. The resort also offers 3 swimming pools and a water park, which features a free-form pool, waterfalls and waterslides. A large deck surrounds a centrally-located pool with a swim-up bar. A second pool just beyond the open-air lobby overlooks the ocean. The full-service spa has multiple ocean view treatment rooms, relaxation lounge, private showers, sauna, steam and Jacuzzi. Coco Palm, part of the Coco Resort complex in Rodney Bay Village, is St. Lucia's first boutique style hotel. Discovery at Marigot Bay Spa Resort and Marina, a five-star property in Marigot Bay, is a new Sonesta managed resort that will be open in February, 2006.
