Reef Bay Trail Hiking
Join A Ranger-Guided Hike

Reservations and transportation vouchers for the Reef Bay Hikes led by National Park Service rangers must be done through the Friends of the Park Store on the 1st level of Mongoose Junction, not at the National Park visitor center. Vouchers canalso be purchased by phone at 340/779-8700.

Transportation vouchers must be purchased at the time of reservation. Fee is $30 per hiker.

The maximum number of hikers on any given tReef Bay Trail hike is 31. A waiting list starts once the hikes are filled up and you will be notified if a vacancy occurs.

Vouchers for the Reef Bay Hike are available on the day of the hike on a space available basis. To repeat, this is a very popular activity and advance reservations are highly recommended.

The schedule of Reef Bay Trail hikes is as follows:

January – March:
4 trips/week (Mon, Tue, Thu, & Fri)

April–July: 3 trips/week (Mon, Tue, & Thu)

August–October:
2 trips/week (Mon & Thu)

November–December:
3 trips/week (Mon, Tue, & Thu)

The frequency of trips may be modified by the National Park Service based on demand or other conditions.

Always check here in advance for any NPS scheduled event.

Reef Bay Trail guided hikes depart by taxi from the National Park Visitors Center promptly at 9:30 am and return to Cruz Bay by boat between 2:30 pm-3 pm.

Vouchers should be picked up the day before the hike from the Friends of the Park Store in Mongoose Junction. If you wait until the day of the hike, be there at 9 am when the store opens or you may be left behind.

You must have your vouchers in hand both for boarding the taxi from the NPS Visitor’s Center at 9:30 am and for presenting to the boat crew at Reef Bay.

If the Reef Bay Trail hike is cancelled by the NPS, you will receive a full refund for your voucher or may rebook the trip at no additional charge

If you cancel a reservation more than 24 hours before the start of the hike, you can rebook at no additional charge or receive a full refund

There are no refunds for "no-shows” or elective cancellations within 24 hours of the trip. Vouchers are not transferrable.
