Ku, Anguilla Suites Resort


Ku is the newest resort on Anguilla's Shoal Bay East beach. The 27-suite resort, out to blend the cool of South Beach with the sophistication of St. Barts, is a project of the same team that took nearby Cap Juluca to its #1 ranking among Caribbean hotels.

The 775-square-foot air-conditioned suites are housed in five white buildings. All have oceanfront or ocean view balcony, dining and living room with pullout couch, full kitchen, bedroom and bathroom.

Decor features white and pale aqua walls and white tile floors, white furnishings and fabrics, with oversized colorful pillows as accents. All suites have TV, radio, DVD and CD player, ceiling fans and safe.
      

On-site facilities include restaurant, beachfront pool, boutique, provisions shop, a small spa, gym and dive center.

The restaurant, open for continental breakfast, lunch and dinner, features  French-influenced Caribbean cuisine.

Ku's 75-foot beachfront bar, longest on the island, is accessible from both the beach and the hotel side. Live music is offered several times weekly.

Ku, "sacred place" in Arawak, is located near Fountain Cave, one of the most important Indian ceremonial sites in the Eastern Caribbean.
      

Opening Rates: From Oct. 15-Dec. 16, 2005, "Celebration Opening" daily rates based on double occupancy per suite range from $135-$175. From Dec. 17, 2005-March 31, 2006 and April 1-Dec. 14, 2006, rates range from $295-$395 and $160-$200, respectively. T
      

Two children under the age of 7 are free when staying in the same suite as their parents. Otherwise, an additional person in the suite ranges from $25-$50 per day, depending on the season. A 10% gratuity and 10% accommodation tax are extra.
