Length: 2.25 miles to the top. Time: 2 hours each way. Difficulty: 3-4 depending on conditions. It's easy at the beginning but becomes steeper.

Trailhead: From Roseau go south toward Loubiere. Turn left at the entrance to Citronier and drive up to the village of Giraudel. The trail starts at the top of the village, beside a small stone reservoir.

From Morne Anglais, which rises to 3,683 feet, you'll have good view of the surrounding countryside and the south coast.

The walk to the summit takes you through both an orchid-filled montane forest and an almost perennially cloud-covered elfin woodland that receives as much as 300 inches of rain annually.

The last 100 feet to the summit are the steepest part but the view is well worth the effort.
