St. Lucia Birding -
St. Lucia Bird Watching

The Millet Bird Sanctuary Trail in the heart of St. Lucia offers the opportunity to sight more than 30 different bird species.

These include 5 endemic species found nowhere else: The St. Lucia Black Finch, St. Lucia Parrot, St. Lucia Warbler, St. Lucia Oriole and St. Lucia Pewee.

The Millet Bird Sanctuary Trail, 1.75 miles long, is a moderate to strenuous walk. Located about 1000 feet above sea level, the Millet Bird Sanctuary Trail offers an excellent view of the John Compton Dam, the largest in the Eastern Caribbean measuring 2 kilometere long. The dam has a daily output capacity of 6.3 million gallons.
