Residency

A 24 hour period on island is required before making an application for a marriage license. The ceremony may be held 2-3 days after the application is granted. The wedding license fee is US$50.

Required Documents

a) Valid passport and original birth certificate.

b) Single persons must provide a sworn affidavit of their status.

c) Divorced persons must provide an original or notarized Decree Absolute sealed by the Clerk of the Court.

d) In the case of the death of a previous spouse, you must provide the Death Certificate.

e) Anyone whose name does match their original documents must provide an affidavit explaining the cause.

d) Persons under 21 years must provide written consent of a parent or guardian in the form of an affidavit stamped by the Notary Public.

e) Also required is a statement detailing the occupations of both persons, marital status, age as of last birthday, present address of residence and father's full name.

f) All non-English documents must be translated and notarized by the applicable consulate.

g) The person filling out the form must present the original documents.

h) The actual ceremony may be conducted by a local minister, justice of the peace or marriage registrar.

Important Note

There is no provision for any marriages in the T&C to be registered in a person's country of origin since all records will be placed in the Turks & Caicos Islands.

It appears if you want a record back home, you'll have to make arrangements yourself. Strange in this electronic age.
