Samana Peninsula Dominican Republic

Where in the world is Samana? It is located in the northeast corner of the Dominican Republic, bordered by the Atlantic Ocean. The name Samana refers to the Samana Peninusla, located in the province of Samana, and is also the local name for the province's capital city, Santa Barbara de Samana.

Pronounced "sama-na," the region definitely is one of the most scenic areas in all the Dominican Republic though it still receives only a modest number of visitors.
