Pico Bonito Peak is a challenge

Pico Bonito National Park one of Honduras' most biologically diverse areas.

Majestic-looking Pico Bonito Peak, rising 7,300 feet above La Ceiba, has been so rarely climbed that it makes Mount Everest appear like a cakewalk.

Pico Bonito Peak wasn't scaled until 1992 and (reports vary) just five or seven more successful ascents have occurred since.

Lower down, Pico Bonito park offers many days of easy to moderate walks. Some hikes go up into the cloud forest, others lead to rivers and waterfalls.

La Moskitia Ecoaventuras located in La Ceiba offers ecoadventures in Pico Bonito Park and the Rio Platano Biosphere Reserve on Honduras' Mosquito Coast.
