Caribbean Cruises From
The Port of Jacksonville

The JAXPORT Cruise Terminal is located at 9810 August Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32226.

Only 15 minutes from Jacksonville International Airport, the facility operated by the Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT) is only a temporary cruise terminal due to its location To reach the terminal, cruise ships must sail under electric power lines and beneath the Dames Point Bridge  crossing the St. Johns River.

More than 80% of today’s cruise ships are too tall for these restrictions. This is why, at present, only a single cruise ship departs from Jacksonville. No decision has been made about when and where a new terminal might be built.

Facilities at the cruise terminal are sparse. There is no restaurant but there are vending machines with water, soda and snack foods. Restaurants located nearby are located at the Airport, Downtown and in the Regency areas. The terminal opens at 11 a.m. on the days passengers need to board a ship.

The Cruise Ship
Carnival Cruises offers the only cruise service from Jacksonville to The Bahamas aboard the 2,052-passenger Carnival Fascination.  The ship offers 4-day cruises to Freeport and Nassau, and 5-day cruises to Half Moon Cay/Key West and Nassau. In 2011, Carnival is also offering a series of week-long cruises aboard the Fascination to Grand Turk, Half Moon Cay and Nassau. See the Fascination’s schedule here
