Playa Dorada
World's Mega-Resort Site

Located just east of Puerto Plata, Playa Dorada is the world's largest all-inclusive resort complex, with 13 different hotels, a shopping mall, restaurants, golf and beaches.

With so many activities, many guests spend their entire vacation within the walls of the compound..

Protected by reefs, the 3-mile long Playa Dorada beach offers good sand along with normally warm waters and plenty of watersports.  The beach and activities attract visitors not staying there but to control traffic  non-guests must purchase a day pass.

A few tips: If you tire of the hotel buffets, go to Hemingway's Cafe for good burgers, ice cold Presidentes and WiFi access.
