St. Martin
Paradise Peak Hike
(Pic Paradise)

Time: 50 minutes each way. Difficulty: 2-3 considering the climb. Trailhead: The bottom of Route Pic Paradise,

Just outside the town of St. Louis on St. Martin, follow the sign and turn inland to Paradise Peak, which at 1,492 feet is the highest point on the island. This track can also be driven but if you're feeling cramped and feel the need for a good uphill walk, this is your best chance.

Begin the walk at the gate with two large urns on the right. As the highest point, this region receives the most rainfall, so the vegetation is lusher than anywhere else on the island. At the top you'll have to share the view with a radio tower, but ignore it and favor the excellent overlook of Philipsburg.
