Nature Discovery Center
Amanyara Resorts, TCI
Looking for an exclusive learning vacation for yourself and your youngsters?
Consider the Amanyara, situated on the remote Northwest Point of Providenciales (Provo) in the Turks and Caicos next to Malcolm’s Beach. The Amanyara offers its guests the opportunity to become more familiar with Provo's remarkable ecosystem through its Nature Discovery Center program, staffed by a full-time naturalist.

Younger guests can take part in such diverse daily programs as research expeditions, nature-themed yoga classes, beach walks, scavenger hunts and turtle nesting site conservation. Aimed at informing youngsters about the indigenous animals and plants, the classes were co-created by teachers from the American Museum of Natural History's Science and Nature Department.
Adults can start the day with a guided Eco Hike to learn more about Provo's geology, its dry tropic forest and the medicinal uses of native plants. Diving and snorkeling are the typical ways visitors learn about Provo's marine biology, which you can do with the Nature Discovery Center, but you can also stay mostly dry but doing your learning through a kayak tour.
The nighttime activity depends on whether one of the Center's regular expert speakers from the Caribbean Wildlife Foundations, the Turtle Project and other well;-recognized organizations happen to be on-island. If not, the options are stargazing or viewing a documentary.
The Amanyara is part of the Aman Resorts, which operates two dozen small resorts worldwide in such exotic places as Bhutan, Cambodia, China, France, French Polynesia, Indonesia, India, Laos, Montenegro, Morocco, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
It has only one Caribbean hotel,
