St. Lucia Jungle Mountain Biking
Mountain biking trails follow paths through tropical jungle on the 600-acre private grounds of Anse Chastanet, one of St. Lucia's first plantations.
The tour once was called "unique in the world of mountain biking" by Tom Bierl, editor of BIKE magazine.
The trails pass the 18th century French Colonial ruins of a sugar mill, an old church, a 3 million gallon fresh water reservoir and hundreds if not thousands of fruit trees including mango, coconut, banana, guava, cocoa and citrus.
Afterwards, lunch is available at Anse Chastanet's beach side restaurant.
In the afternoon, bikers can resume their leg exercises, only this time with a lot less effort by snorkeling over the reef in front of Anse Chastanet, one of the Caribbean's best shallow reefs and one of the region's best shore dives.
